Play about Hawaiian-born Hand of the Cause Agnes Alexander
A play in Honolulu, Hawaii, tells the story of how Agnes Alexander, a prominent early Bahá’í, learned about and eventually embraced the Faith. Ms. Alexander was born in Honolulu in 1875 and learned of the Faith while traveling in Rome, Italy. She moved to Japan in 1914 and came back to Hawaii several times over the next five decades, eventually passing away in her native country. The actors have created another theatrical performance about a notable historic connection: the first meeting between Queen Lili’uokalani, Hawaii’s last monarch, and the islands’ Bahá’ís.
