Stitch work on the bird of paradise Struck by a calligraphic rendering of one of the names of God in the form of a bird of paradise, a member of a local stitching club in Victor Harbor, Australia, recreates the work with threads. The outline in black thread forms the words “In the name of God, the Glorious, the Most Glorious.” The piece was originally made by a well-known 19th century calligrapher from Persia known as Mishkín-Qalam.
