Bicentenary celebrations around Cameroon include many gatherings hosted by families. In Bertoua, a district school official gives a speech at the community’s celebration, while in Limbe, the second day of festivities includes a dance performance by youth.

Ten localities in eastern Cameroon prepare for the bicentenary

For a period of three days, over 160 people from ten neighboring localities in eastern Cameroon came together in the town of Betare-Oya to better organize themselves and prepare for their local bicentenary celebrations. After two days of studying and consulting together, the gathering closed with prayers put to music, songs of celebration, joyful dancing, and presentations from district chiefs, local leaders, youth, and children.
