Showroom in Panama: a walk through history
In an indigenous village in Panama, friends gathered to honor the bicentenary of the birth of the Báb in a heartwarming fashion. A showroom created to resemble a typical home of Persia, beautified by a ready-made carpet and other oriental handicrafts and items, display a photo exhibition showing historical images associated with the life of the Báb and the early history of the Faith. The aroma of rose water—a scent commonly associated with Bahá’í Holy Sites—permeated the air. Jars of earth from places of significance for Bahá’ís, such as the castle of Mah-kú where the Báb was imprisoned, were included in the display. Upon entering the showroom many people were moved to tears. The experience was crowned by prayers and traditional music inspired by the life of the Báb.
