Children and youth performed classical pieces; teachers recited a poem by Táhirih, the immortal heroine from the early years of the Bahá’í Faith, and read a message from the Universal House of Justice.

Influenced by the styles and themes explored in the poetry of Táhirih—a heroic early follower of the Báb—a young composer in Slovakia has created a musical composition. The lyrics of the song examine issues of life, death, and love of God, and read, in part: “My life derives not from my soul, nor does my dying come from my death; Union with you is my life, and separation from you is my death”.

A Slovak synagogue exhibits calligraphy in honor of bicentenary

A synagogue in the town of Stupava, Slovakia, hosted a bicentenary celebration that included an exhibition of some of the calligraphy of the Báb. The historic building provided a special setting where about 100 people learned about the Báb’s life, listened to live music, and tried their own hand at making calligraphy.
