Flourishing of artistic expressions across Canada
"The spirit of the bicentenary has given rise to an outpouring of artistic expression throughout Canada. These concerted efforts to be creative are a response to the understanding that the arts can awaken noble sentiments among every human soul. The diversity of styles and mediums draws inspiration from themes such as the life and heroism of the Báb, the sense of renewal conveyed in His Message, and in the life-story and poetry of Táhirih—a distinguished follower of the Báb and the only woman Letter of the Living.
The various artistic pieces, prepared by a number of artists, include musical compositions inspired by the Writings of the Báb, paintings of diverse styles for various exhibitions, and a mural painted by members of a local community. These works provided individuals with an opportunity to reflect on the purpose of their lives in light of their spiritual and social realities, and to strengthen their capacity to appreciate the beauty that surrounds them.
