These initiatives are bringing people together as they strive to understand what implications His remarkable life has on their own.

Magazine article brings to light Bahá’í community’s efforts to contribute to society

A major weekly magazine featured an article about the Bahá’í community of Salvador, Brazil, and the upcoming bicentenary. The piece discussed how the Bahá’í community aims to put its beliefs into practice, noting principles such as the oneness of humanity and current efforts to contribute to the progress of their society. The article also draws on the community’s place in the history of the Faith, describing the arrival of Martha Root, a notable early Bahá’í, in Bahia in 1919.

Azerbaijan

Daughter of the Sun, a play about Táhirih, staged in Baku

A troupe of young actors dedicated this year’s performance of a play about Táhirih to the bicentenary of the birth of the Báb. Daughter of the Sun was first performed in Baku, Azerbaijan, last year and features the heroism of the first woman follower of the Báb. About 340 people watched the touching and empowering performance. Some audience members later commented on the relevance of the play’s messages to the world today
