Young adults discuss the unprecedented ferment and powerful release of spiritual forces that accompanied the advent of the Báb and explore how He and His followers broke away from the shackles of the past and bravely ushered in the coming of a new era in human civilization. Children learn about these acts of heroism through creative reenactments and storytelling and utilize art to bring to mind the Báb, portray His Shrine, and share His story with others. Family celebrations proliferate as parents and children recount the Báb’s message of love and unity, which stood in stark contrast to the state of decadence that characterized Persia in the 19th century. During His earthly life, His message drew scores of curious souls and inspired a range of artistic tributes to His Person; 200 years after His birth, artistic expressions continue to be a means through which the influence of the Báb's message is felt.

Article on the significance of the Báb’s Star Tablet

As part of the bicentenary, the British Library is displaying three rare and exquisite original pieces from the Baha'i Writings, including an original Tablet of the Báb, in His own handwriting and in the shape of a five-pointed star, the haykal. A researcher from the United Kingdom Bahá’í community was commissioned to produce an article discussing the significance of the shape and the Tablet on display.

The video helps to connect history to the present by describing how God periodically sends to humanity different Manifestations who provide guidance necessary for humanity’s social and spiritual evolution. The presentation then discusses how today the teachings of the Báb and Bahá’u’lláh guide and inspire efforts in communities around the world to contribute to the process of society.

British Library exhibits works of the Báb

The manuscripts of three original and rare works of the Báb and Bahá’u’lláh are on display at the British Library’s Treasure Gallery in London, England. This exhibition, which will be on display for the next five months, was launched in conjunction with the library’s new website, “Discovering Sacred Texts,” which includes digitized selections of sacred texts from the world’s religions.
